Let’s discuss the computing kings from AMD Ryzen 7 vs 9 with Radeon HD 7950 Specs. The new AMD Ryzen 9 7950X is here and it is nothing less than a computing beast. At the Consumer Technology Association 2022, AMD announced that their ZEN 4 architecture based processor would be releasing in the second half of 2022 and as of today, the AMD Ryzen 9 Desktop series based processor is officially available to consumers. Stick around for benchmarks and specs.

AMD Ryzen 9 7950X comes with 16 cores that are equipped with the TSMC 5nm FinFET technology and uses TSMC 6nm FinFET for the Input/output die. Multithreading is enabled and the 7950X comes with 32 threads.

The processor has a base clock of 4.5GHz and is unlocked for overclocking which means the maximum frequency on a single core can go up to 5.7Ghz. Even though the overclocking is unlocked by default, do keep in mind that AMD’s warranty doesn’t cover damages caused by overclocking.

Software Benchmarks and Graphics Capabilities

With a Graphics Core count of 2 and a GPU base of 400MHz, the AMD Ryzen 9 7950X comes with integrated graphics that is capable of running most of the applications and games with ease. Talking about the debate AMD Ryzen 7 vs 9, let’s discuss about the new Radeon HD 7950 Specs across different areas of computing starting from softwares to all way to the games.

Benchmarks:

Adobe Photoshop

The 7950X has dominated here and this is mainly because Adobe Photoshop is a single core-based application, which means that it relies on a single core for performing its operations rather than scheduling its tasks over multiple cores of a processor. So if you are a Photoshop user then you will definitely enjoy working with photoshop on this processor and even if you use After Effects, the 7950X will deliver a 30% smoother and faster workflow, giving you a better working experience overall. Here it is not just a comparison between AMD Ryzen 7 vs 9 but also among other processors that somewhat fall under the same category.

3D Benchmarks

Even for softwares like blender and Cinema 4D, the new 7950X is one of the best performing processors yet with 30% faster renders than the 5950X and 55% to 60% better and faster renders than the intel i9 12900K on render engines. So it seems like the 7950X is a better choice for 3D and VFX artists, at least for the time being. AMD Radeon HD 7950 Specs when compared to the benchmarks of other processors gave the following numbers:

Benchmarks for Games

CSGO 1080p

The R9 7950X upped its performance by 3% to 5% while running Counter Strike: Global Offensive delivering the FPS of 435.9 on a 1080p resolution with “Very High” graphics mode toggled ON.

When it comes to gaming the new 7950X is pretty good but there is not a significant improvement to brag about. The stats above actually show that it is in fact, 3% – 4% slower than the intel i9 12900K when running Rainbow Six Siege on a 1080p resolution, with a 3090 Ti, DDR5-6000 build

In short:

Judging by the performance stats, the AMD Ryzen 9 7950X is easily 35% to 40% faster than the intel i9-12900K and compared to its predecessor i.e., 5950X, the 7950X is 60% quicker at computing tasks. Ryzen 9 delivers a pretty strong performance on its single core as well giving out a performance hike of 3% to 5% over its competitor i9-12900K and a whooping 30% improvement from the 5950X, which makes it a solid single core performing processor yet.

When it comes to working with editing and 3D softwares, the 7950X shows a significant improvement over its predecessors and competitors. We wish we could say the same about its capabilities to run games. As it is barely an improvement over the existing processors that are capable of out performing the R9, easily. We are glad that we got to write about the AMD Ryzen 7 vs 9 debate and got an opportunity to compare the AMD Radeon HD 7950 Specs and it’s benchmarks with other beasts.
